Course Overview
In addition to the obvious danger to life it can pose, fire can also cause catastrophic damage to property and equipment.
With the average fire costing a business tens of thousands of pounds, this course is an ideal choice for any Company wishing to protect their staff whilst safeguarding their business.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Understand the different classes of fire and how they may start and spread in the workplace
- Understand fire safety law and the need for risk assessment.
- Have an understanding of the responsibilities of the fire marshall
- Identify the various types of fire extinguishers and use them to safely extinguish small fires in the workplace.
Duration
This is a half day course.
Location
The course can be undertaken at one of our network of training centres.
Course structure
The course is a combination of classroom based theory, including a multiple choice exam, along with a practical exercise involving the use of fire extinguishers to safely extinguish a range of fires.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course, although the ability to communicate in English along with a basic understanding of workplace safety would be beneficial.
Certification
On completion of assessment an In-house certificate will be awarded.
